Novara to participate in ICT Champions scheme
The ICT Champions Programme has been developed by ICT Ireland in an effort to promote the uptake of IT related courses at third level and ICT as a career choice. This is a national initiative in association with bodies such as the Institute of Engineers, Women in Technology, Atlantic Technology Corridor, Cork Electronics Industry Association, Shannonsoft, and the IT Association in Galway.
ICT Champions are enthusiastic, dynamic employees in high tech companies nationwide, who share their enthusiasm for technology by speaking in local schools about their careers. ICT Champions are usually engineering, science or computing graduates and their aim is to inspire young people with an interest in science, engineering and technology, and to encourage them to study technology courses at third level. This year, ICT Champions have teamed up with STEPS’ Engineers to Schools initiative to ensure that the programme covers the maximum number of schools possible. ICT Ireland won the ICT Excellence Award 2006 for its ICT Champions Programme.
Novara are delighted to participate in this programme in the hope that it will see more young Irish people selecting technology as their career choice.
