Dublinia & The Viking World exhibitions

The Medieval Trust is an educational trust with charitable status. It aims to increase interest, knowledge and understanding of the medieval period. One of its primary activities is the operation of the Dublinia & The Viking World exhibitions, located in Christchurch in Dublin.

As a small busy team of 12 Staff deal with over 100,000 visitors each year, they rely heavily on e-mail to facilitate bookings from Ireland and all over the world.

“A strong web presence helps magnify our profile beyond Dublin and Ireland and is vital when budgets do not stretch to overseas marketing”, says Suzanne Costello, Director of Dublinia.

“An online presence is vital for a small specialist organisation such as The Medieval Trust. Our website is accessed by academics, teachers and visitors to Dublin alike. It allows us to give a more detailed account of our range of activities. E -mail bookings are essential – allowing a quick response to enquiries and overcoming the time-lag and costs associated with phone-calls and faxes.”

Suzanne goes on to say that, “Similar to many small businesses, we do not have in house computer expertise. We signed up with our initial provider on the basis of their size and profile. At the start things ran quite smoothly, but we began to notice a problem particularly with regard to billing. We were overpaying in some areas and in others services were being duplicated and disrupted. Trying to communicate with the company was next to impossible, long waits on automated call systems and it was impossible to speak to the same person twice.

At our wits end, we contacted Gem Solutions who were providing us with some new computers and they recommended Novara. At first I was a little nervous at leaving a big name provider but within weeks of switching to Novara it became obvious we had made a good decision.

From the start the service has been impeccable. Any queries that have arisen are dealt with quickly and efficiently. The Novara staff’s patience and humour in coping with those of us with a less than complete knowledge of computers is outstanding! Equally, the costs involved are both competitive and excellent value for money considering the high standard of service. Novara has provided us with a faultless service.”
